PRIMAL ELEMENTS
This series celebrates the natural beauty of our most primal elements - the earth and the sky. I have taken photos of Nova Scotia’s landscape for over 20 years, always in awe of its moody skies and range of rock formations. I imagined what it might be like if all life disappeared and all that was left was our spinning rock, the earth and our thin, fragile atmosphere, the sky. If no life exists and no eyes to see this, then does even ‘beauty’ exist? Aesthetic appreciation requires consciousness. Life. There are no guarantees to species survival and we are in part now, responsible for much of its continuation.
